The theatre at Epidaurus was today's excursion. Only half an hour so from where we were staying, we managed to arrive before the majority of tour buses but the crowds were gathering as we left.
It is pretty spectacular and the acoustics really are amazing for something so old. One (and probably the only) benefit of having a few Americans around was that their tour guide asked them to stand in the middle of the stage and clap their hands so you could get the full effect.
Built in 330BC and added to in the second century AD the theatre is still used for the occasional performances of something ancient and Greek.
