The very impressive site of ancient Delphi. Built on a steep mountainside. No idea how they managed to get the JCB's up there.
We arrived relatively early after walking up from the campsite. As we left the convoy of tourist buses and guided tours were just arriving. It was hard going walking around not sure how some of the more senior citizens would manage.
In typical Greek style there were few restrictions on where you could walk meaning you could get up close and personal with the ruins. No guide books, refreshments or touristy shops. You can't help but think there's a lot of opportunity to make money being missed. Not that I condone the over commercialisation of history, the Greek way is quite refreshing.
