The Peloponnesian Divorce Tour

Today was probably the longest single journey of the trip. We retraced our steps from Delphi, back over the bridge at Patra and headed south. The road north of the Gulf of Corinth was equally as stunning and further enhanced by a snake crossing the road in front of us and another dead at the side of the road. They must have been a good five foot. Certainly more interesting road kill than hedgehogs and rabbits!

We had selected a campsite that was located in the area we wanted to be putting us within striking distance of Olympia. The road south of the bridge wasn't inspiring and was clearly the 'garden of Greece', very flat with lots of cultivated farmland and numerous road side stalls selling pumpkins! Don't ask, we've never seen anything resembling pumpkin on a Greek menu nor any Greek Ghoulies (well apart from one day on a secluded beach).

We arrived at the campsite, not the best. It was ok and on the beach but not our scene, too many people and not the impression of cleanliness that you'd want. It served its purpose as a quick stopover.

The fact that we didn't take a single photo sums it up!
