We disembarked today and flew Ryanair to Barcelona. We decided to risk checking in our bags and carrying on essentials. Ryanair are much maligned and often accused of losing luggage. I have to say they were great and very efficient. The flight got away on time and arrived 15 minutes early - 1 hour 35 minutes. Everybody has carryon, more than their allowance I suspect. As soon as we were in the air, people got up with their luggage and moved seats which seems to SOP. They then bring the trolley around to sell Paninis, torte & coffees - I didn't see anybody buy anything. Then came the guy selling magazines, the girl selling duty free perfume and the ultimate offering - scratchcards. They were so quick up and back the aisle I

can't imagine they sold anything.

Anyway there was a short walk to baggage collection and my bag was second off. The conveyor belt stopped before the first bags got all the way round and Pete's was second to last. There was hardly any checked baggage so very efficient. And entertaining. We rate Ryanar 4/5 - Pete reckons the toilets weren't very clean.

We caught the Aeroport Bus into town and had about 200m walk to our apartment in La Ramblas. All went rather well really.

We went for a wander and to find some food - we missed lunch - and found a Tapas bar which had GF beer. They were so good we had two each. Back to the apartment, which is four times larger than our cabin was, we found the blinds are not blackout - you can see straight through them. We have wooden shutters outside the window, not sure if we are supposed to close them? Anybody got any ideas??
