Europe

Another very busy tourist attraction and easy to enter with the London Pass. The church is at full capacity with over 3,300 bodies buried here. Looking at the names on the plaques it is veritable hall of fame. The photo’s can explain it better than me.

We then stumbled across the Supreme Court and Privy Council which used to be NZ’s highest courts of appeal, until Helen Clark severed ties. Beautiful building which we took the opportunity to have a look and sit in the Privy Council head honcho’s seat. Chatting to the Nigerian security chap he was aware NZ (and Canada) had chosen to ditch the courts and told me about his mate who had married a NZ lady. He then proceeded to tell me he would have liked a NZ lady but he was already married. And if you find someone to marry you need to hold on to them. Strange conversation.

Lunch in the lovely St James park and then we visited the Churchill War Museum. We didn’t prebook tickets and it wasn’t covered by the London Pass but we waited a couple of minutes at most. While there are still plenty tourists about, it doesn’t feel rushed or really busy. At the risk of sounding really old, the rooms with the display boards was really dark and it took some effort to read all the text. I couldn’t be bothered so went through these rooms mostly watching the video clips.
