We got kicked of the ship by 9am and caught the shuttle to the train station. Fairly competently bought the tickets into Roma Termina and became the advisory service for people coming behind us. Even telling them which platform to go to. Found our apartment and got there three minutes before the agreed time with the intensely, detailed landlady.

We can see the Colosseum from outside our front door, the location is spectacular. We put enough washing on to get us home and went out to find lunch. We found a GF restaurant around the corner a bit off the main tourist thoroughfare and enjoyed a pizza and chicken salad with a glass of wine. We could get used to this. It was a family restaurant and my smattering of very poor italian endeared the waitress, who brought us complimentary mama's homemade Limoncello. Boy it was strong, it can't be legal!

We spent the afternoon checking out the local area, more churches, more piles of rocks and big parks. Found a supermarket and back home for a home cooked meal. After dinner we went back out for a stroll, like the locals, It was jacket time but not too cool. Buskers at the end of the street and lots of young people milling about, while we enjoyed the lit up Colosseum.
