Back in Italy, the land of gluten, marble fountains, piazzas, bell towers and stunning churches. Despite the food issues we have in Italy, we love the cobble streets and colourful, grand buildings. Messina is the base for visiting Mount Etna and Taomarina which didn't overly interest us, so we walked around the town. The wide, leafy streets were a contrast to Greece and Messina looks a bit wealthier based on the cars being driven.
The main attraction was the Duomo and clock tower.
