French cuisine has been an adventure! One of my favorite French cuisines is crepes and duck. Crepes are my favorite sweet treat in Paris. What I love most about them is one can find them anywhere on the streets of Paris. They are usually cheap and always delicious. With crepes, there are so many options. I can get a savory crepe one day and a sweet one the next. My favorite savory dish is by far duck. Though I did not try fois gras, I have thoroughly enjoyed trying duck in different dishes. This is not a common meat used in the United States. I love duck in curry dishes, potato dishes, and with vegetables. Surprisingly enough, the main food that I have not enjoyed as much as I thought I would is fromage, also known in English as cheese. I am already slightly lactose intolerant, but I realized in Paris that I do not even like the taste of exotic cheeses. I am usually up to trying any kind of new cheese, but I am one of the few in my study abroad group that does not like fromage. When I return home soon to the United States, I want to recreate a famous dish of France called Raclette. Raclette is when one takes potatoes and cheese along with other toppings like bell peppers to create a scramble of sorts. It is popular for large group gatherings in France, and there are even machines made specifically for it. My favorite drink is called Orangina. This orange soda is a perfect balance of soda and orange juice that tastes nice and fresh. I have loved exploring all of the different foods and drinks around Paris!
