Taylor's Diary

Our first week in France has been one of the most extraordinary weeks of my life! My most memorable moment so far was yesterday when we traveled to Montmartre located in Paris! It sticks out in my mind because it snowed that morning as we arrived. Paris in the snow is now one of the most beautiful pictures that resonates in my mind. Even though we were freezing, seeing all of Paris covered in snow from the top of the hill, where the Sacred Heart church (Sacre-Coeur) was located, is something I will not forget. It brought us girls so much joy to see the tiny, cute streets of Paris covered in a blanket of white. We even got on the local French news for their snow special! Emmanuelle, who was guiding us through Montmartre, said it does not snow often, so we felt very lucky to witness it. Children were out of school playing with parents, dogs were jumping into snow piles, and people were laughing all around. They say April in Paris is a dream, but January in Paris seems to make the cut as well.
It was also a special day because we traveled around Paris on our own after Emmanuelle separated from us to go to work. We used the Metro and went shopping at some different stores around the Louvre. Having freedom and responsibility can be scary in some moments, but we were thriving in this big city! It was so nice to just walk around with no agenda other than exploring the city of lights and love!
