Flinders Rangers

From Arkaroola we headed towards Coober Pedy, taking it easy over the next 3 days traveling along the Oodnadatta track.

The first stop was Marree, close to Lake Eyre and along the old Ghan train route. Also made famous by Tom Kruse who did the outback mail run along the Birdsville track. Dinner at the Marree pub of course.

At Marree, we also visitied the Royal Flying Doctor's, not as tourists, but as patients as Genevieve was not well. They were great and gave us about $100 worth of medicinces for $20.

The second stop was William Creek, population 20, the smallest town in Australia. Again, dinner at the William Creek Hotel of course, where Diane had a kangaroo souvlaki.

Finally, day 3 on the way to Coober Pedy, we stopped at the outback scupture park which has been made famous by the two planes standing on their tails. We spent about an hour here, is it an amazing place if you ever have a spare few days, a 4wd and a love of dust!

This sculpture park has been made from old car parts mainly, with a few planes, buses and other farm machinery thrown in. It keeps changing and it is great to walk (or drive) around.
