I journeyed into West Africa to Mali. Mali was a civilization of Muslim businessmen and traders. There were Muslim converts and everyone there was hungry for Islamic knowledge and law. The people there were extremely devout and prayed intensely. Every man no matter what social class would put on a clean white shirt for Friday prayer. The rich often sent slave boys to the Mosques to save a place for their master to pray.
However, there were some things I did not like about these people. The Sultans daughters went around the Palace without clothing and the people ate disgusting things such as dogs, carrion, and asses.
