The Rihla

There was a massive caravan of people traveling from Damascus to Medina, so naturally I joined since we all had a common destination. The caravan was so massive it seemed likely that it was made of several thousand people. The journey also took around 45 days so the Malmuks sent soldiers to protect the caravan from raiders.
Once we reached Medina, we spent 4 nights in the palace of Muhammad and there was continuous praise and worship of the prophet. We then traveled to Mecca where I studied with the holy men and graduated the status of al-hajji.
