This morning my new flatmate arrived from NY. Since she doesn’t have her keys yet, I woked up early, at 8 am, and opened up for her. We said hi quickly and she went to sleep. I went back to bed, but couldn’t sleep so I just watched one episode of Sons of Anarchy.
On Sundays almost everything is closed in Hamburg (wtf?), and I got to know that yesterday, just before I went to bed. Luckily, I already had some food here at home. Around 11 a.m. I went out to see if anything was open and I found a huge second-hand market. Fantastic! So I strolled around the area, bought a ring, a pair of earrings and a thin jacket. The weather here is much colder than I thought it would be, and it rains. Like, a lot. And then it’s suddenly sun again, and five minutes later: rain. So this jacket was just what I

So this jacket was just what I
needed.
I went back to the apartment for some lunch and to see if my flatmate were awake, but she wasn’t. So I went out again, this time to meet a guy named Johnny. He’s from Barcelona and we found each other online one week ago or so. He will join the same program as I and he live just 200 meters from my place, so we met outside my street door. We went to a coffee shop and sat outside in the sun/rain/sun/rain. It were nice and we found out that we had a lot in common and this crazy thing happened (yes, it’s crazy, at least we thought that). In the school application we should tell which animal we think we have this most in common with and why. And both he and I choose a meerkat (suricate). What are the odds??
At 6 p.m. my flatmate, Laura Marie, finally woke up. She’s really nice and it feels awesome to live here with her. We went out for dinner
and since almost everything is closed on Sundays we eventually found an Italian restaurant where we ate pasta and for dessert we ordered a chocolate cake. When it arrived we found out that it was a heart-shaped cake that we should share. Felt like an romantic date, or maybe thats what the waitress thought. ;)
Tomorrow the school starts. Okay, I'm a little nervous, but mostly excited. We will do video portraits and show something that represents us, no talking, 20 seconds per person. Hmm..
