A romans life has changed continuously over the past couple thousand years. From antiquity to modern day you can see each facet on the streets of Rome. But as they say, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Rome is a bustling metropolis full of modern, progressive people moving at one hundred miles per hour. But still, we walk the same streets as Cicero and Caesar. Everyday we walk by the pantheon, or glimpse the temple of Saturn as we ride by the wedding cake on public transport. We sit in piazzas, beautifully adorned by premier renaissance artists, eating and drinking, socializing with our friends, just like they did hundreds and thousands of years ago. Sure, we talk about twitter and snapchat, but like them we talk politics and ethics, we make jokes and laugh with one another. We got to church and worship, just not always the same God. I hope the artifacts I presented to you throughout these twenty chapters help give you a small idea of what it was like to live in the different time periods of Rome. I also hope that while reading this you saw that while a lot has changed, quite a bit has stayed the same.
