Rome is no exception to this trend, even if it wasn’t quite the renaissance hub that Florence was. Everywhere you go you’ll see art galleries showcasing the finest art the renaissance has to offer and is a major part of the tourist industry in Rome, which employs many roman citizens today. This renaissance art was a big part of a Roman citizens life during that time period as well. They would constantly see it all around them and affirmed Rome as a not only a religious hub of the world but a cultural one too. The renaissance shaped what the romans see around them every day. From statues in piazzas and campos to bridges and basilicas, all of it was reimagined and redone in the renaissance era to become the Rome we see today. Bernini’s bridge is a prime example of this fantastic renaissance art placed into a romans everyday life. Its one of the main bridges used to cross the Tiber River and is used by many pedestrians to get to Vatican City. This statue is adorned with rows of beautiful statues all designed by one of, if not the, greatest sculptor in human history. These artists shaped the Rome we see today and so had a huge impact on the everyday life of a Roman citizen.
