HIMALAYAN VICTORY

The body pain was bearable but I was missing my kids and wanted to reach back home (Yeah I was getting home sick). Our trek was again on a downhill descend and my pace increased substantially. There were sporadic breaks for water break and refreshers for the group but then my mind was fixed on reaching ground level at the earliest. Still unsure whether it was the previous day beer or my home sickness or any other reason nevertheless i skipped my breaks and was in the forefront to descend.

The Lunch Pitstop was at Chomrong and reached there by 12 Noon and lunch with a beer. It was heavenly especially as Non veg was again available. Chicken Sizzler with a chilled beer is always a great lunch.

We continued our descend further to reach Jignu Thanda by 4 PM for night halt. This culminates our last full day of trek. The guides advised us to visit the hot spring near the tea house. A few of us undertook that journey too which was a 20 mins descend from the tea house and a climb back of 40

mins. In normal circumstances I would not have taken it up but my morale has changed in the last day or two and my body has also coped up except for a little nasal bleed due to altitudinal changes.

The natural hot springs next to the modishala river was phenominal. the water was piping hot, a lot to introspect through the wonders of Nature. After a refreshing bath for an hour we trudged back to the tea house for the night cap.

It was our last night with our guides and porters and hence thought of giving them a party. Organised a farewell party with booze and some music and dance thereafter; in all a fun night to remember.
