ME AND TWO WOMEN AKA TRAVELS WITH SHIRLEY AND CARROLL

So we tumble into the elevator (two at a time only) and head to the little corner breakfast for our usual cafe au lait, croissant and orange juice, except for Carroll who broke with tradition and had scrambled eggs. Then head to the tube.

We hop on, make one transfer, walk the required hundreds of steps and down the various tunnel levels and arrive at the subway station nearest the Picasso museum. Mind you, nearest is not to be confused with close to, 'cause it was quite a distant to the museum. We finally get there and spend the rest of the morning explores the five levels of the place. Some of the art work he painted is amazing but he was also a collector of other artist's work and had a nice collection.

So we exit the museum and walk to where Shirley and Carroll had a fantastic lunch in 2016. We get there and the place is closed. This about the third restaurant we have been to that has changed its offerings; one went from French cuisine to a pizza parlor, another to Thai...guess it is an indicator that nothing stays the same. So we walk on for a bit and find a decent place. I have a gizzard salad (I need the French word but the hired interpreter is taking a nap), Carroll has steak tartare with fries and Shirley has canard on a bed of mashed potatoes which was very good (I got to sample a few bites).

We had to the subway entrance which is near the entrance to St Denis but on the way stop and get some foie gras from our snack dinner at the apartment tonight. When we get off the tube we stop at the patisserie for a baguette, the fromagerie for some cheese and bit of meat and then the coop grocery store for some Paris beer. We arrive back the apartment at about 3:00pm.

Was a decent walking day...7 floors, 3.9 miles and 10,145 steps. But my feet hurt.

Tomorrow is the farmer's market...
