Slept late this morning until 8:00, must be all the exercise!!! We are going to head out soonest and go to some castle, Chateau Vincennes. We skipped on the breakfast and decided to eat and earlier lunch.
Off we go to the tubes which were not crowded at all, to the castle. The weather is warmer but not too hot, especially in the morning. We hit the cathedral which dates back to the 1600s. Charles V used this palace and the surroundings extensively for planning the many wars he waged and were waged upon him, and to store his library of over 1000 volumes. His quarters were not much bigger than the dungeon

His quarters were not much bigger than the dungeon
itself. Marquis de Sade was imprisoned here along with other French historical figures. Interesting place. We walked along the restored ramparts and saw many ancient graffiti done by the former prisoners.
We had lunch at a place that Shirley and Carroll had eaten at before called La Cafe de Troy. I had chicken gizzard salad, Shirley had foie gras with toast and Carroll had 6 oysters and a smoked salmon salad...she over-ordered by mistake. The food was very good and that was the best gesiers salad I have had since my last visit.
The following page has a picture of our lunches..they were really good and then we took the tube back towards the apartment.
Tomorrow we head out to Monet's house, Giverny, which is a pretty good poke from here but I am really looking forward to the experience.
