Gary & Helene in Vietnam & Bali

Today we prepare to visit the monkeys in the Monkey Forest. Going with minimum monkey temptation. No monkeying around, the warnings are clear. Back packs, water bottles, sunglasses, FOOD, anything they can snatch from you, they may try, best not to bring.

Upon arrival and in just a short time of visiting with the monkeys, it is evident that the problem is not the monkeys, it is the tourists! Backpacks, FOOD, water bottles, sunglasses, fancy cameras with lots of pieces, the temptation is endless! People are being jumped, things are being snatched, people are upset and trying to stop the monkeys, the monkeys are not happy about having to tug-a-war for something, so people are jumped, sometimes bit, sometimes scratched and the poor monkey is blamed. Gary & I had no monkey troubles. I sat in the shade, an older monkey joined me, we both sat and watched the stupidity of humans like kindred spirits.

Walking to the Monkey Forest from where we are staying is 3 km. Normally 3 km is a breeze. But today the weather reads '33 degrees, feels like 42', it's warm and this warm knocks the life out of Gary. Thus, after walking, Gary hits the pool to cool.
