It's a new day! The first day of 2016, again!
Today is remarkably quiet on the streets and we are actually able to walk the sidewalks, for lack of street vendors. Shops are rolled shut. A little erie after being surrounded in congestion and crowds since our arrival. It was starting to feel NORMAL. :)
We took to the streets, walking to historic sights or points of interest for us.
The walk brought us along grand streets lined with cannopying-tall trees and gated mansions of another time & era. Some mansions beautifully maintained, others needing some love & money.
Arriving at the Tran Quoc Pagoda, life felt normal again, it was congested with people, coming to offer food or small amounts of money to give themselves good luck for 2016.
Afterwards, the Botanical Garden offered some peace from the crowds and some quiet.
The Ho Chi Mihn Mausoleum was the 'awe' in our day.
The 'beauty' in our day was its people. Today they were dressed in their finest and looked absolutely FABULOUS! The children stole our hearts....so darn cute!
