The Roman Coliseum is an amphitheater built in the 1st century, more precisely at the time of the Roman Empire. It is located in the center of the city of Rome, Italy whose original name is Flavian Amphitheater, which refers to the Flavian dynasty of emperors who built it.
A posteriori adopted the name of Colosseum and is by which it is known today. This name is due to a great monument located nearby, which is The Colossus of Nero. One of the most significant data is that it was declared a World Heritage Site in 1980 by UNESCO and is one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World.
