Philonicus Had made an offering to Philip about the horse Bucephalus. Offering the horse for thirteen talents. Bucephalus was a vicious and unmanageable horse that no one was able to tame. Alexander the great was immediately mesmerized by this horse he had an unusual connection with Bucephalus that could not be described. He told Philip and the others that he was able to tame Bucephalus because they seemed to have trouble doing it themselves. Philip questioned Alexander and asked him what he had to offer if he was not able to tame Bucephalus. Alexander responded by saying that he would pay the whole price for him. Philip and the others in the institute started laughing out of disbelief. They thought that Alexander was bluffing and that he was too confident in his own abilities. Alexander ignored them and went up to Bucephalus and started to guide him towards the sun. Alexander remained calm and started to gently caress Bucephalus and with ease jumped on him and aligned himself to the seat. He could tell that the horse was eager and let him run at full speed, continuing to guide him with his voice to his commands. Philip and the others were anxious for the outcome due to the fact that Bucephalus is seen as vicious. But once they all saw that the horse was on good behavior and Alexander accomplished his goal for Bucephalus they exclaimed with glee and praised Alexander for his talents.
