The battle of Gaugamela was the decisive battle that Alexander the great had encountered. Alexander the Great invaded the persian empire in order to take over. King Darius did not want his empire to be involved in any more events and tried to negotiate with Alexander the great multiple times, he even offered to arrange a marriage with one of his daughters in order to keep the peace. But Alexander did not want to negotiate with the persians. Alexander the Great had a bigger goal to obtain that was much stronger than any negotiation can make up for. When the day of the battle came Alexander's troops were met by king darius’s army. Alexander the great’s army was outnumbered but because of Alexander's great military tactics they managed against them. Alexander the Great guided his troops to go along with his strategies throughout the battle, his military army trusted his intuitions and trusted that Alexander would lead them to victory. He ordered a group of soldiers to charge straight towards the middle of enemy lines and created a tactic to use himself as bait for the other soldiers. Alexander the Great decided to ride his horse all the way to the edge of the right flank in hopes to get as many persian cavalry to follow him, creating a diversion so that king darius would be left unprotected so that the macedonians can land a decisive blow on the persian king. Forcing the king to retaliate and participate in the battle. Eventually Alexander's tactics led them to victory. Him and his troops made risks and adjusted to their situation.
