This was to be a quiet day before starting our Rocky Mountaineer adventure. After a leisurely breakfast we went back to our hotel gathered our luggage and wheeled it a few blocks to the Calgary Fairmount Hotel where we were to stay that night. Part of our tour included entry to the Calgary Skytower which was located basically next door to the Fairmount. Here we were able to take in some magical views from 525 feet above the city. I really thought Calgary was a very modern city with beautiful gardens and hanging baskets every where. The afternoon each of us did our own thing. After a Nana nap I found my way to an area where three blocks of the street had been blocked off for pedestrians only. Just wandered amongst the cafes and bars and did a lot of 'people watching'. A couple of drinks with Jenny and Pete and a reasonably early night.
