Once again an early wake up call to get my flight to San Fransisco. Gosh the security at Vagas airport was certainly the strictest I have experienced yet. You had to go into a both which just took only you lift up your arms and place feet on particular markings. I managed to set off the alarm and was sent back into the both to have it happen all over again. I was then told I was going to be 'patted down'. Another officer came while this was being done. All good and I was good to go. ( The same thing happened to me this morning leaving San Fransisco I am wondering is it is the steroid cream I using as I was swabbed for drugs). On arriving into San Fransisco it was the first time that my transfer to my hotel has not worked - I was on an internal flight and my transfer was from international. The airport of course was huge however I eventually found my way but have to say I was glad to see my hotel. Which by the way was in the most amazing location right on Union Square. This is where all the high end shops are located. No I didn't do any damage to the credit card no time I had a 48 hour Hop on Hop off pass so I had to get 'hopping'. Did every line and saw heaps however nothing that said I am loving San Fransisco. Lots of 'Beautiful Old Ladies' old victorian and Edwardian homes. It was very cold and certainly very misty around the Bay and Golden Gate bridge area. Robyn you are right about Sausalito it really was a beautiful area. After spending several hours on the 'hop on' I decided I needed to pretent to shop in these outrageously expensive shops. Started in Macy's and after two of the six floors of women's clothing I was totally over it. Back to Hotel to organise myself for part two of my trip - Calgary ready to start the Rocky Mountaineer adventure.
