My diary

Off to the Grand Canyon and what's more the first time in a helicopter. After a wake up call of 4am it was on the bus and off to Boulder City where the amazing experience began. I just loved the helicopter ride no nerves at all! Six of us on it and I managed a window seat on all rides. It is nice to know sometimes weight is OK the heavier people on the outside to balance the aircraft!! We flew over lake Mead largest man made lake in the states and the Hover Dam. Then over the volcanic black mountains the grand washed cliffs before entering the west Grand Canyon. We descended 4000 feet to the floor of the Canyon where we disembarked to take a boat up the Colorada River. Amazing, apart from helicopters in the distance, it was so quiet and beautiful. Back aboard a helicopter and off to another area of the Canyon called Eagle Point this is where the sky walk is. The tour I was on had VIP Passes so no queuing straight out on to the sky walk. Certainly an uneasy feeling just standing on glass with the Canyon many feet below. After spending some time at the point back onto the helicopter for another three quarters of an hour back to Bounder City airport. The whole experience was wonderful and certainly a great way to see the Caynon.
After coming back caught up on some domestics and a little sleep before hoping into a taxi to go and see the Michael Jackson Show. Another magical Cirque du Soleil production.
This morning I put out the 'Please do not Disturb' sign and did not get up till later. Around midday I walked the strip to the Canal shopping Centre. This mall is huge and part of the Venetian Hotel complex all based on the canals of Venice. I strolled for a while and as I had not eaten I decided to shout myself a nice lunch alongside the Canal.

I am now back at the Hotel getting organised for my next adventure flying to San Fran early tomorrow morning.
