Yet again we set off on another part of our amazing adventure - seven days of cruising on the Star Princess. As part of our travel package was a ticket to the Vancouver Sky Tower. This we did before heading for our cruise ship. Checking in was very smooth and in no time we were aboard. Settled into our cabins a bite to eat and the usual safety briefing we headed up to the top deck to enjoy sailing out of Vancouver harbour. Once again a lovely hot day so very pleasant being out on deck. We had chosen 'any time' dining and this has given us the chose of two formal restaurants. First day was a full sea day so this gave us all the opportunity to take in everything that the ship had to offer. Pretty lazy day and of course plenty of eating.
Day two - Ketchikan. Ketchikan is known as the 'First City' because it was the first community travelers came to as they traveled north. It is a waterfront town and has become very much a tourist town during its short summer. Nearly every shop is a gift or jewellery/diamond outlet. I have to admit I very nearly got carried away with the diamonds but on thinking about my new home and the money I need to spent on that I decided no this is not the time! Got back to the ship with out spending a dime!! Cocktails dinner and a show before bed. Another great day.
