Preparation

The day draws near, the day when I will find myself whisked away into the mediation of Maldives. In two days I will arrive in a country rich in diversity, and filled heavily with life. I look forward to documenting my journey, as the travel continues.

Throughout this trip, I hope to find rest within myself, by discovering the hidden , simple beauty of Maldives. Through the course of my travels, I will ride high in planes, and glide across waters in boats, I will walk the glow of the beaches, and brush the leaves of its jungles. Weakly, I will try to communicate with the natives, who are said to be highly hospitable. Like any traveler, however, I have, and will continue to research this country in order to easily merge myself within the atoll's culture.

I am excited, yet scared, scared of what I do not yet know. I'm challenging myself by going to places which are new, places nearly uncharted. I hope to find rest, and relaxation yes, but also cultivation and knowledge. I am ready Maldives... I am prepared!

Packing for Maldives takes little time. Due to their

year around warm climate, I have packed the following for my 7 day trip:
4 pairs of shorts, varying in length
8 tank/ short sleeved t-shirts
1 long sleeved shirt (just in case)
2 pairs of "light jeans"
3 bathing suits
2 sundresses
Toiletry bag- toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, perfume, soap
2 pairs of heels
2 pairs of sandals
1 pair of tennis shoes
Sunscreen
Bug spray
Sunglasses
Sun hat
