Renaissance in Florence

Leonardo Da Vinci was a trained painter and sculptor in Florence. He was trained in the workshop of Andrea del Verrocchio. He is described as someone who was always eager to learn new things. He was a very smart person. He went from experimenting, to painting, to inventing, to watching. He had most of his ideas and drawings in a notebook which was about 2,500 pages. Some of his pages depicted the natural world, animals, motion of water, and the flight of birds. As well, he made several inventions. Although, only some of his ideas came true. He was in Florence for quite a while. Things from him would mostly be learned and observed through what he drew. He had famous artwork that was located in the Uffizi Gallery. Some of his famous artwork pieces were the “Annunciation”, “Adoration of the Magi,” and a self portrait. He is also well known for one of his most known pieces “The Last Supper.” He decided to capture this moment after Jesus revealed to his apostles that one of them will betray him. Now the portrait we all may know of and have all been taught at school, is the “Mona Lisa'' portrait. She was the wife of Francesco del Giocondo. He drew this portrait insanely good that it looks like she is staring at you.
