MY TRAVEL JOURNAL

This journey came to life because i wanted to go to Porsche and Mercedes museum. It was just 2 days.
I was flying to Stuttgart via Athens.
Once i landed in Stuttgart i headed straight to the Porsche museum as i did not have any luggage. I used the subway and about 1 hour later i was at the museum. I am a huge Porsche fan, i know everything about their racing cars and i really love Le Mans where they were the most dominant manufacturer. The museum's building is really modern and it is bigger than the BMW museum. The car i most wanted to see was the Porsche 917 from 1970 Le Mans...it was not there...but there were so many cars that excited me so much that i did not really care that the 917 was not there...i saw the 917 (different 917) that Mark Donohue drove in Can-am series, the 911 that won Dakar, the 919 evo that recorded the fastest lap in the history of Nurburgring, the legendary 956, the "Moby Dick" 935 and a lot of other legendary cars that i dreamt of seeing. There were a lot of road cars too but i was not that interested in them to be honest. It was the perfect car Museum for me.
The rest of the day was not interesting...i just went to my hotel.
And here we come to the second day of my journey.
It was sunday. What i did not know was that in sundays some of the trains don't opperate, so when i reached the central station to take the train to take me to the Mercedes museum the train was nowhere to be found. After a lot of searching on google and because the museum is not in an easy reachable location i found out that a metro line that stopped near the museum used a station right next to the

It was sunday. What i did not know was that in sundays some of the trains don't opperate, so when i reached the central station to take the train to take me to the Mercedes museum the train was nowhere to be found. After a lot of searching on google and because the museum is not in an easy reachable location i found out that a metro line that stopped near the museum used a station right next to the

central station, so i started searching for the station...i never found it. There were some construction sites in the area and i never saw the station.
With nothing else to do i went back to the central station and tried to find another way to go. I finally found out that if i took the subway for 2 stops towards the direction i came from i could take another subway from that station that would take me near the museum...so i did that.
Once i arrived at the station near the museum i had to walk for about 800 m to reach the museum.
I started walking and once i crossed the river bridge i realised that a part of the road was closed due to some construction sites so i had to go down the river bank and then up again to get past the construction site. Once i did that i reached an underground crossing that would take me near the entrance of the museum. Once i reached the other side of the crossing i realised that the crossing was closed by a fence...why ????????? Why close it only in one side ?????? What am i supposed to do now ??????? Well...i jumped over the fence and after 3 hours on the road i reached the museum.
The museum is really big...and very well organised. Once you get your ticket you go to the top floor of the museum and as you start going down the cars get newer. So you start with a 1880's "car" and the last you see is some really modern electric cars. The museum is really dark so that it has a contrast with the lights over the cars...it is very nice. The highlights for me were by far the 300 sl and the racing cars room. It had some F1 cars and it also had one of my favourite cars ever...the Sauber C9 that won Le Mans in 1989.
Once i was done with the museum i headed straight to the airport as i was really exhausted. In overall both museum were worth it. The Porsche museum was by far my favorite because it was more race car orientated but for a carguy in general Mercedes museum is better.
