MY TRAVEL JOURNAL

Kotor is propably the biggest tourist attraction of Montenegro. It is a small town placed inside the bay of Kotor, a bay that is connected to the sea with a very narrow straight of water.
We left Budva and headed towards Kotor...it was a 45 minute drive. We chose to go from a road that would take us up the mountain so we can see Kotor from high ground and it was really worth it, the bay is amazing and the mountains around it make even more exceptional. Once we got in Kotor the roads were so crowded...thaknfully we found a place to park and we headed into the old city of Kotor.

Kotor and Tivat, Montenegro

Kotor is propably the biggest tourist attraction of Montenegro. It is a small town placed inside the bay of Kotor, a bay that is connected to the sea with a very narrow straight of water.
We left Budva and headed towards Kotor...it was a 45 minute drive. We chose to go from a road that would take us up the mountain so we can see Kotor from high ground and it was really worth it, the bay is amazing and the mountains around it make even more exceptional. Once we got in Kotor the roads were so crowded...thaknfully we found a place to park and we headed into the old city of Kotor.

The old city of Kotor is very much like Budva old city but much bigger. Once we got inside the walls there was a big square with a lot of cafes. We sat down and searched the menu for a freddo espresso...nowhere to be found. We ordered a cold tea and decided that we were not going to have a nice cold coffee. After this disappointment we headed deeper in the narrow streets of the city. It was really nice. There were a lot of small squares between the streets, a lot of small tunells going under houses and a lot of stairs. It was a pretty tiring city to walk. To be honest the houses and the buildings did not seem very luxurious, some of them seemed a bit banged up but this made them very special...it had a feeling of old.
After a big walk we decided to eat. We found a restaurant in a square and we sat there. Nothing special. We also visited a maritime museum that was ok...nothing special too.
I have to say that my brother is a bit prone to being ill. So by the evening he had a problem with his stomach and he started having fever, so after we had a coffee (hot) we decided to head back. After all we had seen the whole city of Kotor and we were full.
Kotor was the highlight of our trip to Montenegro. It had a very nice old city but above all it was in an amazing place. The bay was really breathtaking.

Our 4th day was not that special. My brother had to stay in the hotel with my mother so my father and i headed towards Tivat. Tivat is a small town which is in fact a huge marina. It is very modern with a lot of big yachts. Nothing special. Our next day was very special.
