THE DOWNUNDER SUMMER

The day was a couple's day out. Me and my wifey had planned to take a wine tasting tour to the Hunter's Valley through a private group tour. We had to start early and were picked up from Chatswood interchange at 7.30 AM as the Hunters valley is around 200 kms north west of Sydney and takes around 21/2 haours of driving.

We were taken in a group of 10 people in a Mercedes Minivan. The driver cum Guide, Mr. Paul was more than helpful in making us comfortable with the group. We had a whole lot of nationalities within the small group comprising of Swedes, Kiwis, Ozzies and Americans. We hit off with all of them especially as the tour was being organised to get drunk.

We were taken around 4 wineries where we were given samples of their important wines. In the middle of the tour we were offered a grand lunch as well. The weather was hot apart from that we had a nice time. We now know the difference between White and dark wine, different wines in the market like sparkling, chardonnay, etc...
On the whole a tipsy educational fun tour which ended around 6 PM back at Chatswood where Sandhya picked us up to reach home.

The Kids had a quient day at the Park and the Beaches in the evening.
