THE DOWNUNDER SUMMER

We started the day late as we have already spent extended days for the past two days and so lunch was prepared by the hosts. We had lunch and went on a Melbourne city tour. We pulled along Mr. Sathish our host as well as he was familiar with the city.

We visited various places like the Flemington Race Course, Melbourne Showgrounds (Where Masterchef Australia is filmed), the Pixels building (Energy producing building), Victoria Market, Melbourne Docklands, Hosier Lane (Street filled with Graffiti where we had done a Facebook Live show as well). Walked through the CBD of Melbourne, rode the Tram. Saw all the victorian buildings showcasing the architectural splendour of Melbourne. A very tiring day but had a glimpse of the wonderful Melbourne and all its glories. Enroute back took a takeaway from an India Restaurant to have sumptious dinner and sleep.

The next day, the 29th was our last day in Melbourne, the morning started with packing. We had to bid adieu to our excellent hosts that day. We are were at home all these days due to their hospitality. All packed we had to surrender our 12 seater vehicle as the vehicle was not allowed interstate travel. We went back to the Tullamarine Airport Avis to change our 12 seater to two 5 seater Nissan Pulsar.

Ganesh was driving one vehicle whereas the other car was shared between me and Sandhya. It was a pleasant drive on the Hume

Highway. Almost the whole day was spent on the highway reaching Canberra around 9 PM where we were stopping for the night. (Sandhya's parents home). Obviously there were many pitstops on the highway. The distance of 700 Kms was covered in roughly 8 hours and was a smooth ride all the way through.

After a round of pleasantries we had dinner and had an early bed. We had to start the next day early to Sydney. As planned we started around 8 AM from Canberra on the 30th December and reached Sydney Northern Beaches, the place where my brother resides,

Beacon Hill around 12 PM, a distance of around 300 KMS. The rental vehicles were returned.

We were at peace as we have reached home, the first leg of our vacation travel has been completed.
