Sunny Salzburg to Munchen

Up early on a bright sunny morning to walk around the lovely city of Salzburg. Stores open at either 9am or 10am so a cafe was found for lattes and 2 supposedly healthy pastries…okay one had spinach! We walked along the river and over the bridge with all the love token padlocks - thousands of them - in the brilliant sunshine. The weather is amazing today, sunny, calm with a brilliant blue sky.

Some of the Christmas market stalls were being dismantled and it was interesting to watch cranes and trucks negotiate the very narrow streets in the Alt Stadt to retrieve the wooden stalls. We ventured into the Christmas/Easter shops…rather over the top and decided to have another cafe stop before returning on the train to Munchen. Michaela was not feeling well today, Anna on the mend and Sean somewhere in between. So far Mike and I are ok…hope it stays that way!

Home to Fred’s flat for a while and then took tram 19 to Odeonplatz where we met Anna at Maelu Cafe for some delicious panini and 2 torte - one Blackforest Cake and one a fabulous raspberry creation. I love this place and as the cafe part is upstairs there is a view of the streets below and today a lovely sunset.
