I was awed by Cloud Gate, more commonly called The Bean because of its shape. It is a public sculpture in Millennium Park by Indian-born British artist Sir Anish Kapoor and was the result of a design competition. Kapoor explains that its highly polished exterior was inspired by liquid mercury. The surface reflects and distorts the city's skyline. Tourists are able to walk around and under it, wonder at the warped, multiple reflections and indulge the brilliant photo-taking opportunity.
