In September I got to experience one adventure that has always, always, ALWAYS been on my bucket list. That would be Disneyland and especially Disneyland in Paris. We found out that the park wasn't far away at all and that the tickets were a lot cheaper here. A group of us (the huge Disney lovers) bought our tickets and planned to go for my birthday.
I was beyond myself! I've never been to a Disney park before and It's been a dream of mine to go since I was a little girl. My first Disney movie I ever got hooked on was the Little Mermaid. From then on Disney is pretty much what I watch for laughs and watch for good memories. So, this was a huge cross off on my bucket list.
The whole day was filled with laughter and amazement. I loved walking around and seeing my favorite movies come to life in front of my eyes. We even got to watch a show with all of the Disney princesses and princes. I loved seeing how they incorporated the French culture into the Disney Park. Throughout the show they would sing in both French and English. As a theatre nerd, to create a show that is telling the story in two different languages at the same time is quite the challenge. It was done excellently! They scripted the songs and interjected lines so brilliantly. Either culture would enjoy the show and understand it.
I also really enjoyed that the food vendors sold French cuisine such as crepes, baguettes, pastries, etc. Everything was both in French and English. Especially, the night show! The night show was beautifully done. They presented a show using scenes from Disney movies and lighting ques to add to the effect. Most of the songs were in French and very well done.
When I walked away from Disneyland one thing really stuck out to me which was how proud I was. Disney which is mostly based in the U.S. did such a wonderful job incorporating another culture into the magic. There definitely could be improvement but what I was blown away with most were the shows. The shows were specifically created for this park and were so well done. I absolutely love that Disney has parks in different cultures that allow them to experience the magic and fun that they create.
