Salon du Chocolat is a chocolate lovers place. If Willy Wonka had a son, I am one hundred percent certain that Salon du Chocolat would be his expo. In fact I believe I saw some beautifully done golden chocolate bars while there....conspiracy theory? I think not. When we got in line there were hordes of people waiting anxiously to get inside. When we got closer to the front we began to hear music coming from the expo. We were all very excited to spend a few hours in a chocolate lovers paradise:). The first thing we were hit with were all of the people bustling their way through the lines. We all eventually split up because it was too difficult to keep together.
The smell was fabulous. I felt like every vendor was fanning their chocolat to get the crowds attention. Each booth was decorated uniquely to stand out from the other great chocolatiers. The first thing I saw that drew me were the mannequins dressed in high quality fashion. Each designer had created dresses or pieces that were created out of chocolate. I was absolutely amazed and loved every second of it. After that I shoved my way through the crowd to grab some coffee to balance all of the sweets. After that I set out to find some unique artful chocolate. I was amazed by the talent and pride of the different booths. I would have probably appreciated it more if I had understood more French. Many of the booths were explaining the long process of how they created their masterpieces.
Towards the end our group all got back together and showed each other our fun finds of the day. The crowd was getting a little bit too chaotic to completely enjoy the experience so we left before it got even more congested. It was a lot of fun to live in a Willy Wonka's Factory kind of world even if only for a few hours.
