We were supposed to be touring a police station today, but the station decided they were no longer able to host us. We knew this already, so we were able to plan the day in advance. Nine out of our group of fourteen decided to go on a bus tour and visit the Giant's Causeway. Words are unable to describe how pretty the views were. On clear days, you can view Scotland in the background. But were going to take the scenic route back.

Here’s a link to the legend of the causeway. We took the direct route up to the causeway to avoid tourist overcrowding. We took the moderate path down and the hard path up due to poor planning. Our route up is highlighted in yellow in the one picture. It was nearly straight up. Please enjoy the many picture from this particular location. I wish u had another hour or two to spend here. We got back on the bus and went to see a castle. It is very run down, so we were unable to go any closer. Apparently scenes from Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe were filmed here. We then went to the Bushmills Whiskey Distillery. I only took a photo from the outside. Most of us walked to a little village for fish and chips for lunch. I opted for chicken and chips instead. We then went to the Carrick-a-Rede Rope bridge. There was about a half mile walk to the bridge. This wouldn’t have been so bad if it weren’t 2/3 stairs. It started to rain so the stone stairs were a little slippery going down. We crossed the bridge and were able to see an island inhabited by only a few hundred Irish. We then crossed the bridge back and went to the bus. I don’t have access to a picture of me crossing the bridge with me right now, but I promise you I’m making a sour face. This was not my favorite experience. Especially when some of my classmates wanted to “be funny” and swat the bridge. After the bridge, we traveled about 50 minutes along the Antrim Coast Road to a small town. We stopped for ice cream and pictures. We took another 50 minute bus ride along the coast to the Carrickfergus castle. It wasn’t very impressive with the crane in front. The statue is of King William of Orange. Finally, we headed back to Belfast to end our day. Naturally, I was exhausted. We are a quick dinner and I promptly went to bed. My colleague said we walked over 10 miles and climbed 53 flights of stairs throughout the day. Phew!
