Massachusetts - Cape Cod

Day 3 - Cape Cod, 10.28.2018

Well the storm blew through without any real damage to the Cape. Initially they forecasted winds up to 60 m/hr with the potential for power outages due to tree fall and damage. They also forecasted that there may be potential flooding due to increased precipitation. Luckily Hyannis was not affected as originally projected and faired pretty well with very little debris on the roads. Today its cloudy, but not raining or windy, so that is a plus.

We wanted to get out to explore a few areas that stuck out for us when we did some of our driving around yesterday. So we loaded

Roxy into the car and we headed east on highway 28. We meandered through the small towns and stopped at any antique shops and any craft type shops that were open. Believe it or not we spotted a Bosson; it made me think of Betty. We are not collecting, but anytime we step into an antique shop we look for Bossons. As we drove around we came across a few protected coves with quaint marina's and nice cape styled homes. Some of these places are pretty spectacular; large lots, large homes and very expensive boats tied up to their own private docks on the bay.

We continued further down the highway and decided to stop in at Chatham. Most places along the way were closed, either for the season or being that it is Sunday, but everything in Chatham was open for business. The streets were bustling with weekend warriors and tourists alike. The quaint village streets has tourist shops,

clothing shops, speciality boutiques, ice cream shops and galleries. The best part is that every where in town is dog friendly. We had such a wonderful stroll down the streets and really enjoyed our afternoon.

Today was a perfect day to explore Cape Cod. I can only imagine what it would be like in the summer months. The towns are developed with beach gear/wear shops, tourist shops, ice cream shops and some of the best mini golf spots I have ever seen. Beach life mixed with a shopping and entertainment mecca; no child would be bored, no matter the weather.

Tomorrow we start making our way towards Chicago, with a stop in Clearfield, Pennsylvania.
