Butter Beer Sucks, FL

The whole build up of the trip for me has been partially to do with the fact that i’m a magnificently childlike fan of Harry Potter, and the chance to go to Diagon Alley and on the Hogwarts Express (actually to go Hogwarts for schooling) has long been at the top of my things that are never going to happen but you can dream list.
So it is with a heavy heart that I say that it wasn’t great, I think in my head i built it up to something that it could never have realistically compared to - because realistically i’m not 11 and I haven just received my owl telling me to come to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to do book learning.
That being said, there are a lot of really cool things in harry potter world; the aforementioned Hogwarts express, the entire fucking castle that looks like it’s been magicked out of my dreams and the immersive experience of both kings cross and Hogsmeade. If you are a fan of Harry Potter you should go be cause its AWESOME. Do not however have the butter-beer, t tastes like caramel with sugar and sugar water, honestly it’s gross.

I couldn’t even drink it, and I have tea with 3 sugars. :?
Universal studios, where the boy wizard’s world lives is pretty darned cool. It was a scorcher today so we didn’t have to queue long for anything, the longest one was Hogwarts but I was in Hogwarts so I couldn't have given less of a care in the world.
The fact that each ride has its own experiences to be had while in queues and their staff are dressed specifically for that ride really adds to the day. While other theme parks bustle you unceremoniously on and off of various metallic structures. Universal instead offers you an immersive experience

that is not unlike being surrounded by films. After walking through some of the rides, it’s not hard to see that the influences of the films produced by the company, and that those films that people love are not purely being exploited for profit but also for the enjoyment of their guests.
Kallan - Best: Harry Potter World (all) or the Hulk ride.
Worst: How easily I’ve been tanning, need stronger than factor 30 I think.
Jamie - Best: Harry Potter World, and the Rip ride rocket
Worst: Queueing up for the rip ride rocket, sitting down and then being told it wasn’t working and we had to go.

When we finally left, around 8pm after arriving at 10am, we decided to go get some snacks from Walgreens up the road, and grab some food to eat in the room.
Walgreens was a success, I also got a bottle of 365 pills for $20.99 which seemed excessive but I regularly need hay fever tablets, so now I just need to try not to lose them.
Burger King for dinner because they’ve got a 2 for $5 promo on, we each got two burgers; for me that was a mistake, I barely finished one. Jamie ate almost the entirety of both but found a gherkin and got grossed out, I think he’s trying to get fat before me so he can be ‘the fat one’. Bastard.

I'm really tired and i’m not sure if anything is making sense. Hotel only has wifi in lobby, none in room, what a rip off.
