America on the road
Oklahoma, it turns out is also hot as anything in the middle of summer (I think I’m learning what these Midwest states have in common) so we booked a hotel for the night. After checking in, around 4 so early for us, we decided to check out the pool which turned out to be a great plan. The tower hotel in Oklahoma has an indoor/outdoor pool so that’s pretty cool by itself, what turned out to be even cooler were Mac and his Granddad who were swimming around. After some child whisper questions about our pool antics Mac decided to join us in our swim. Well, Mac’s still learning so we hung out while I taught him how to kick in the water and he taught me a bit about sharks. He was still swimming a bit like a frog when all of our fingers had shrivelled up but he almost had it so I’ve no doubt he’ll be a fine swimmer soon. After the pool we went to whiskey cake for dinner, farm to table, which was pleasant and then after a great sleep it was back on the road to see more of the Midwest.
