Sustainable travel to Leipzig

Leipzig is easily accessible from the Netherlands in an environmentally friendly way. The over 100-year-old, highly photogenic Central Station (Leipzig Hauptbahnhof) is located right in the city center, making it the perfect starting point for your trip. You can travel from Amsterdam to Leipzig in just seven hours by train, starting at €38 one way. Alternatively, buses also offer an affordable way to reach Leipzig, with the modern bus station conveniently located at the Central Station.

If you prefer to drive, the journey takes about six hours from Amsterdam. Park at a park-and-ride (P+R) location outside the city and take the bus to the center. Keep in mind that Leipzig’s city center is a low-emission zone, requiring a green emissions sticker (category 4) to drive through, ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment.
