This morning we got out of bed early and went to the Auckland zoo. We saw a Kiwi the national animal of New Zealand. They are so fluffy and cute. We also saw crocodiles, tigers, elephants, cheaters, giraffes, pigs flamingo, otters,spider monkeys and lots of other animals that i had never heard of or seen only in pics. for some of the birds was there really cool enclosure that was huge. In the there their were lots of New Zealand native birds. there were Kea, kakapo, blue ducks, tuatara, pookecos and lots of others. After that we ate lunch and got ice-cream and went off to feed the giraffes. they had black tongues it was so weird. I asked dad why this is and he told me because the black colour helps protect it from tongue-burn!? When the Giraffe took the carrot out of my hand his tongue curled around my hand and it tickled. After the Zoo we went up a mountain call Mt Eden. It is the highest mountain above sea level in Auckland. The view was spectacular and there was a huge hole in the middle of the mountain, Dad said that this happened because of the Maori built holes in the ground to cook there food in. It Souned weird to me,why would anyone want to cook there food in the ground? Bets me but anyway on our way down the got a good look at the harbour bridge and the thousands of boats. Finally we got home and had dinner at the hotel and came up to bed. Goodnight.
