Chapter Six - In a Puff of Purple She’s Off

I may have over ‘purpled’ not something I ever thought I’d hear myself say but proof is in the picture!

All those Amazon parcels... maybe I should have thought a little more before repeatedly choosing the colour purple...... at least I will stand out when I get lost on a glacier or am flying through the air over Queenstown!

After a VERY long journey I am finally here......10 months of planning, over 26 hours of travelling.

Welcome to New Zealand..... and first impressions...... Its wet! but as always ‘Yesterday was stunning!’

Since touching down in Christchurch I have spent 2 hours being orientated to all the important features of my new home on wheels, been to the supermarket to stock up on

supplies..... (cheese and wine is a balanced diet right?).... and then driven the 100 Kilometers to my first night location......... the drive passed mostly without incident apart from kamakazi Pukeko birds running randomly across the road!

After a superb nights sleep I am greeted by dry weather and promising skies..... Its still early so there is time for a quick walk around taking some snaps before breakfast. This has been an ideal ‘test run’ in the van making sure everything works etc.

This is now the first full day of the trip so I cook up a Nat special breakfast sandwich that all adventurers should start their day with.

I’m now ready..... Bring it on....
