My Fijian Adventure

3:31pm Fiji Time
Today was a lazy day, I was up at 8:30 and not out of bed until 10. I went for a dip in the pool and said my goodbyes to the few friends I had made at my hostel. My bunk-mate, Andres and I had went for a walk to the store for breakfast and shared bread and Fiji butter with some of the locals, the butter here is extremely rich and flavorful, different than it is back home. After breakfast, I went for a dip in the pool while I read my book. I had a very relaxing morning and when it was time for lunch, I decided to try the Kokoda Fish which is a Fijian dish of coconut milk, lime juice, and fish with cassava chips. I ate and then went back to the pool until Andres brought out his straight line which is a rope that you tie to two trees and then tighten and walk across. Andres had been practicing for months so he could do tricks like jumping and balancing on one foot, We messed around on it for a while and I managed to walk a few steps, much to my surprise since I have terrible balance. Later that night I met a local named Junior (Ju) who was on vacation from his job as a scuba instructor, he was very friendly and I sat and played cards with him and his friends and two Scottish girls named Amy and Maddy. Ju had family in the resort and got us all dinner while we sang along to guitar music. When it was time for Kava, I made my way to the circle and listened to more guitar. After packing up my stuff, I went for an early night and fell asleep fast.
