Culinary Tour, Italy & Portugal September-October 2019

Having the little town of Minori as a base is perfect. We are close to the other towns but not in the middle of the bustle. Of course, it also means navigating the narrow road along the cliffs to go from one town to another. It is amazing to be in a car or a bus and experience the drive! (thank goodness we are not driving ourselves!) The ferry boat definitely has more appeal.

The day we went to Amalfi it rained very hard for much of the day, but cleared up while we were having lunch.

The main square of the town boasts an important cathedral. The Domo is St. Andrew in Amalfi and it is really spectacular. It has Moorish influence and dates from 1266.. The Crypt houses the relics of St. Andrew. I have included a close-up of the beautiful ceiling in the Crypt. Many sections of the church were added on over the centuries.

The sun came out as we had lunch overlooking the water. After lunch Howard was able to indulge in adding to his "art collection" of bikini photos!
