Today we drove to Cerreto ... a small town known for it's ceramics. It is an old town, which in 1753 had 33 ceramic studios. They only have 6 now! This man, Pietro, is very talented and makes many religious ceramic pieces. He showed us his technique and told us of his history.
THEN: we were invited to each create our own piece. A few of us made little angels ... I made a good luck angel for my daughter. They will get fired,, and then Alecia will pick them up in a couple of days.
THEN: We strolled on the street and found a ceramic store with beautiful household pieces. I only bought 2! (Andee and Ellen did their part, also!) We are definitely looking for FedEx or UPS!
We had lunch at a little place in Guardia, and then back to LaPampa.

THEN: We strolled on the street and found a ceramic store with beautiful household pieces. I only bought 2! (Andee and Ellen did their part, also!) We are definitely looking for FedEx or UPS!
We had lunch at a little place in Guardia, and then back to LaPampa.
In the evening, we made the drive to Cusano Mutri ... a town about 30 minutes from LaPampa. The festival was mostly closed down because by then it was raining (as in storm, pouring rain!) All the little booths were closed. Although: the cand store was open! We did quite well there ... LOL So: we had a delicious mushroom dinner and drove home. We will try again another night.
I put the map in on the previous page and on this one, so you can see where we are. We are staying at La Pampa Relais (a wonderful agritourisimo) in the small town area of Melizzano. Each day we go on an adventure to some other little town in the area! It's really fun.
The maps below are to show a little bit about where we are. When we started in Rome, we had a long drive to get to our area of Melizzano. The first part was to Gaeta. Then, on to Melizzano. Since then, each smaller town is only 20-30 minutes away. Our guide, Alecia, lives in Guardia Sanframondi, and she and Lisa schlep us back and forth every day. They are terrific!!
