And so ends the second leg of our journey, in which we experienced Madagascar.
To sum up the 39 days:
- 1 day of flight from Zimbabwe to Madagascar (via Johannesburg)
- 13 days of mostly long-distance travel
- 14 days of mostly sightseeing
- 8 days of mostly rest, work, plan
- 3 days of mostly recovery from a stomach bug
but note that we saw more of Madagascar during the days of long-distance travel than we did during the days of formal sightseeing.
We travelled more than 3,300 kilometres around Madagascar, more than 2,800 of those by taxi-brousse, and the rest by hired 4WD, local taxi, cyclo-pousse, pousse-pousse, etc.
We stayed at 14 different hotels for a total of 39 nights.
