Today, we left Dingle to head north. We started out with another wonderful Eileen Collins breakfast and amazing porridge. It took a while to say our goodbyes, because she really made us feel like she was going to miss us, and couldn't wait for us to return.

We headed across the peninsula to ride the ferry across the Shannon river. Actually, the mouth of the Shannon, where it feeds into the Atlantic. The ferry leaves hourly, and we were convinced we had missed the boat, literally (I said that in Adam Adam's voice, BTW). As we approached the dock, we saw the ferry was still there.

We were still a bit away, and there was a puttering car in front of us. I just

knew that we would get to the boat just as it pulled away, but no, we actually made it!

We had no big plan today, just to go where our whims took us. We saw a sign for a lighthouse and a coastal road, so we took it. We stopped at a still-functional lighthouse whose current building was built in the mid 19th century. The wind was pretty high today, and it was cold, so we stopped into look in a craft shop/coffee house. We got some warm beverages and a few treats for the road.

We continued along the coastal road, stopping regularly for Carrie to either take amazing photos, converse with cows, scream in terror at how close to the cliffs we were, you know, the normal stuff.

On our way north, we stopped in at a town with some nice waterfalls

in the middle of town. We went to take some pictures, and some Irish lads came up to us - "Americans?" When we told them where we were from, they were incredulous that we were there enjoying the scenery. I guess living somewhere can make you immune to its charms.

Continuing on, we thought we would stop in at the Cliffs of Moher, even though we have been there twice before. The wind was blowing something fierce. We all got a bit wind-burned very frozen. We did have a great time, though.

Back in the car, we forged on to Kinvarra, where we are staying the next 2 nights. After checking in, we unloaded into the rooms, which are very nice and spacious. We wandered around town to find dinner, and ended up across the parking lot from the guesthouse at Keogh's. Dinner was awesome, and reasonably-priced, which is not always expected here.

Afterwards, we Face-Timed with Kristie and the girls, as well as Emma, Cody, and Gracie. It was good to see everyone. Carrie is now unconscious, and I will wrap this up. Good night!
