Our Thailand Travel Adventure

Packed up and got a taxi from Bophut down to Lamai. Taxi was a bit cheeky and dropped us at the top of the road so we had a 20 min walk in the heat with our backpacks on to our hotel. We were both dripping with sweat by the time we arrived. Luckily our room was ready. We had booked the Penthouse room and boy what a fantastic view we had (and a nice comfy bed too).

Unpacked then went for a walk along the beach. Had a drink in bar called Paradise next door. Decided to have a couple of days resting so we stayed at the hotel for Monday and Tuesday, just going for walks along the beach and ate at the hotel restaurant.

Wednesday we were ready to get back on the road exploring again so we went and sorted out a scooter with the hotel. Headed to the Overlapping Stones first of all. Amazing views along the coast. Quite

steep but this scooter managed it! Then we went back down to see the Grandmother and Grandfather Rocks. Two rocks that look like the genitals of a man and woman! Strange but true!

By that time we were ready for some R&R so we headed to Lamai Beach and ended up at a bar/restaurant called Baobab Restaurant where you could sit on the sunbeds for free if you ate or drank at the restaurant. We did both! Beautiful beach and the sea was lovely and clear. Steve attempted paddle boarding for the first time....he had said he thought it looked easy but that was definitely not the case....watching him try was hilarious.

Thursday we drove up to see a waterfall called Na Mueang. It was too slippery to get into but very beautiful to look at. Then we made our way down to Crystal Beach also called Silver Beach. Beautiful little cove where the sea was so clear and calm and warm. Spent the

rest of our day here. That evening we drove down to a nice restaurant called Kawins Kitchen where I had chicken massaman curry and Steve tried the sweet and sour red mullet. Both dishes were delicious. Got back on the bike to drive home. Got about 20 metres up the road and got a flat tyre at the back! So difficult to drive and uncomfortable. It felt like we had a square tyre! Steve tried driving as much as he could as it was a long walk back up the hill. We made it back and told reception who were going to get a mechanic out the next day. Luckily we had decided to have a bit of a chill day and not really go anywhere on Friday so we went for a walk to the high street and 7 Eleven. Stopped for a cold coffee. Then on the way back walked along the beach to miss out the hills. When we got back the bike had been fixed and luckily it was just a new tyre which cost us around £6 for a new one...phew!

Saturday was very overcast for most of the day. We decided to head

up to Chaweng Beach as not visited that area yet. This was the most busiest beach we have seen since arriving in Thailand and even then it was pretty empty! Sat on the beach and went for a swim. Drove around a little then made our way to a mexican restaurant on the way to Lamai where we shared tortillas, fish tacos and a chicken and mango burito... delicious.

Sunday we had to give the bike back in the morning so decided on another lazy day making the most of our lovely apartment and view.
